  • Delightful and insightful

    David's book is charming and hilarious! I thoroughly enjoyed the stories of his childhood and his journey of self-discovery and fulfilment. I have always admired his wit and commentary on panel shows and his range as seen in the sketch shows and radio shows he's done over the years, this book explains how they came about and does so with comic genius and clever geographical anecdotes. There should be a FTP walking tour of Kilburn lead by Mark Corigan. I highly recommend it!

    I've always been a fan of David's comedy - especially when collaborating with Robert Webb - and the unique intellectual perspective that he displays in panel shows and his written work. Therefore, I was always going to buy this book. In true form, David makes his wholly unremarkable life story eminently readable, frequently hilarious and always extremely, extremely clever.

    Result!!!!.....having spent the past four years being poked in the ribs by one or several small kids...to wake up an finish reading them their bedtime story......I didn't fall alseep once reading this book. In fact, I think this book has actually got me my 'reading legs' back....so thanks Mr Mitchell!....job well done. A thoroughly entertaining read, enlightening, revealing, candid, very witty. My perfect kind of book. The last book I read with such gusto was Andre Previn's hilarious and enthralling autobiog about 15 years ago! 5 our of 5 Pasties from me
